BUM BUM Jens

Last saturday I tried to be BUM BUM BORIS, but failed totally. Instead I did the impossible, I broke my lower right arm, the radius. In gods name how did I do that? Run as fast as you can after the ball along the base line, loose balance, fall bachwards on the hand and make the radius to jump out of the elbow joint. Thats a BUM BUM Jens.

Spend 4 days in hospital, was twice in anasthesia, once to put the radius back in place and for surgery. Now, for 8 weeks I will have a cast. Fantastic, the summer will be great.

Anyway, I hope to be back at work next week when I am not drugged up anymore.

Tennis is a dangerous game!

Australia Day, a day of rules and regulations

The day Australia celebrates the Anniversary of the foundation of New Holland, is supposed to be a joyful day. The weather here in Perth is always perfect, as this year it was a 100% blue sky, 36 degrees and a moderate breeze.  There are loads of things to do in the parks and in the evening there is a huge firework display at the riverbank.
What better conditions to grab a beer or wine and chill out with your friends (or mates as they say here). NO, NO, NO!! The government will control you.
If you are thinking of drinking alcohol you must oblige with the rules of the city. List of things you can NOT do is endless:

Designated BYO (Bring Your Own) Picnic Zones
Start Time:
 6:30PM
End Time:
 8:45PM
Location
 Kings Park and Langley Park
Limited alcohol will be permitted in two designated BYO Picnic Zones for the 2013 City of Perth Australia Day Skyworks - in Kings Park and Botanic Garden and on Langley Park, Perth.
BYO Picnic Zone locations
The designated BYO Picnic Zone in the City of Perth is the grass area on Langley Park reserve bounded by Plain Street, Terrace Road, Victoria Avenue and Riverside Drive.
The designated BYO Picnic Zone in Kings Park and Botanic Garden is to the western side of Fraser Avenue and bound by Wadjuk Way, the Administration road and Fraser Avenue.
Conditions of entry
All persons situated within the BYO Picnic Zones must abide by the following conditions:
Persons over 18 will be able to bring either one six pack of beer or pre-mixed drinks or one bottle of wine per adult.
• The BYO Picnic Zones will be operational between the hours of 6.30pm and 8.45pm only, outside those hours it will remain illegal to drink within the areas.
Those persons not abiding by these conditions will be requested to leave the zone.
There will be a strong security and WA Police presence within the zones at all times and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.
The remainder of the City of Perth Skyworks will be an alcohol-free event at all times.
Oh Perth, you still have a long way to go before you can even call yourself a real city!!
